- Rep. Nora Slawik on Tuesday announced that she is introducing the Child Care Affordability Act. The bill would eliminate the waiting list for child care assistance, which currently includes about 7,000 families, and restore cuts made to child care assistance in the 2011 budget agreement.
- The Oakdale City Council voted Tuesday to require dog owners to use a physical restraint, such as a leash, when out with their pets in public. The ordinance previously allowed dogs to be controlled by voice command.
- Advocates of state funding for a veterans memorial at Oakdale City Hall were at the Minnesota State Capitol Tuesday. They spoke before a House committee and to the Senate majority leader while they were there.
