Week in Review: January 1 Edition
Here's a quick summary of what made news in Oakdale over the past week.
- A woman was found dead in her Oakdale apartment Wednesday, and police have arrested a St. Paul man in connection with her murder.
- The snowless December has allowed Oak Marsh Golf Club to stay open later into the season than in the past eight to 10 years. The course was fully booked for golfing on New Year’s Eve.
- North St. Paul’s Sandberg Funeral and Cremation Services made the Tonight Show with Jay Leno’s headlines segment.
- The Washington County Attorney’s Office plans to roll out a veterans court program in January.
- A community group is looking for funding to establish a year-round tutoring program for students that was a great success when tested earlier in 2011.

- In police news: A car hit a retaining wall and rolled over into a Geneva Avenue resident’s yard, more than $2,000 worth of items were stolen in a vehicle break-in and a stolen item was recovered at the scene of a second break-in.
