Week in Review: July 17 Edition

• Washington County will cut library hours next year due to budget cuts.
• Oakdale City Council members said they want to continue to bring archers into the city to thin the deer population, however, they don’t want them in the Oakdale Nature Preserve.

• The committee working to plan and raise money for a new veterans’ memorial outside Oakdale City Hall plans to begin construction on the monument in late August.
• Oakdale’s Plaza Garibaldi Mexican restaurant is staying in its current Bergen Plaza location after thoughts of moving to a smaller space.
• Gabriella Rongstad, a 10-year-old who is playing the lead role in the District 622 summer play Annie was last week’s Oakdale Patch Whiz Kid.
• In sports: Oakdale’s American Legion baseball team beat Edina in the Gopher Classic tournament.
