Weigh in on the Valley Branch Watershed 2015-2025 Plan – Oct. 30

How do you
use your local lakes and streams? What concerns do you have about how those
water resources are managed? The Valley Branch Watershed District is updating
its watershed management plan and District Managers are looking for feedback
from local residents to help them determine where to focus efforts and funding
over the next ten years.

The Valley Branch Watershed runs
diagonally from Silver Lake in North St. Paul down to Valley Creek in Afton.
Other notable resources within the watershed include Lake Elmo and the
Tri-Lakes, Sunfish Lake, Lake Edith and the Lake Elmo Park Reserve. The
watershed management plan sets the mission, policies, and actions for managing lakes, ponds,
streams, wetlands, and groundwater within the district.

The Watershed Plan Workshop will
be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 4-6pm at the Nordic Center at Lake Elmo Park
Reserve. Free park entry and refreshments for the workshop will be provided by
the Valley Branch Watershed District Managers. Please contact Karen Chandler at kchandler@barr.com or
952-832-2813 with questions and to RSVP. Visit the Valley Branch Watershed District website
at www.vbwd.org for more information about the watershed district
and to share your opinions and concerns in a brief survey.
