Great Real Estate Question

Great Real Estate Question

To do Home Improvements or Not is the question?
Should I make improvements before I sell my home?  Are there improvements
that would be a waste of money?
The biggest improvements you can make are to your kitchen and bathrooms.
They will give you the most return on your investment.  Other improvements:

  • Organizing &  Cleaning
  • De-cluttering
  • Fresh coat of paint
Look at your home through a "Buyers Eyes".  Walk through your home as if it  is your first time and really, honestly take note of everything.
Take a note pad, camera, or small recording device and video tape your home tour.  Dare to look in every closet and corner.
Then review your notes or video and make an "Action Plan" of what you need to do to get your home - Buyer Ready.
  • Ask your realtor to come through and give you their professional advice.
  • Start with outside and the curb appeal - This is the first place the Buyer looks to see if they are even interested in looking inside your home.
  • Update your landscaping and or clean up the yard & spruce up the exterior of the home
  • The worst thing you can do - is NOTHING at all
Remember Not to take things too personally about your decorating or how others view your home.  This is a business move (selling your house) not a popularity contest.

We just want to sell your home ~ not win the popularity contest.
