Brief: Oakdale Woman Receives Award for Non-Profit Work

An Oakdale woman received an appreciation award for her work.

The Direct Support Professional Association of Minnesota (DSPAM) recognized an Oakdale resident for her work with a non-profit organization. 

Melanie Freiermuth of Oakdale for received an appreciation award from DSPAM. She is an employee of Opportunity Partners, a Twin Cities non-profit disability organization. 

Freiermuth, a career development specialist, provides support to people served by Opportunity Partners in a way that fosters independence and showcases their strengths to the community. A DSPAM recognition event was held on Sept. 15 at the Southdale Library in Edina.

DSPAM is dedicated to the development of a highly competent and professional human services workforce by supporting and working together with direct support professionals, self advocates, families and allies.
