Oakdale Residents Raise Money For Victims of Domestic Violence
Families and friends gathered at Dunn Bros. Coffee Thursday night to buy a CD that is more than just music.
In front of a packed house at Oakdale's Dunn Bros. Coffee, Pastor John Stiles and his band celebrated the release of the —a gospel album created by Twin Cities musicians who collaborated to end domestic violence through uplifting music.
After two murder-suicide incidents affected students last year, Stiles decided to launch an effort called We Are The Children Project, a musical way to raise money for local charities that help children and address domestic violence.
"This has not been a project done by one person," Stiles said to the crowd at Dunn Bros. Coffee. "It has taken an entire community to complete this CD."
