UPDATE (10:05 p.m.) — Nicholas David's family erupted in cheers as the Eagan native strolled onto the stage of 'The Voice' tonight to perform his rendition of Bill Withers' "Lean on Me."

The judges of the show universally praised David's performance, which was accompanied by a full gospel choir.

More than two dozen Eagan residents turned out for a viewing party at Ansari's Mediterranean Grill to support the former Eagan resident. Nearly all of Nick's immediate family were on hand to cheer as the judges heaped on the praise.

"It was like chicken soup!" said judge Christina Aguilera.

Judge CeeLo Green called him "The voice of a generation."

The St. Paul Pioneer Press later wrote that David delivered "his strongest performance to date."

Nicholas David later told KARE-11 TV reporter Jana Shortal, who was reporting live from Los Angeles, that "I feel I came here and did exactly what I wanted to do.

He said he wanted "to hopefully inspire people to listen to their heart and follow their dreams."

UPDATE (7:45 p.m.) — Nicholas David's father, David Mrozinski, is anxiously walking throughout Ansari's Mediterranean Grill, telling stories of Nicholas' childhood and musical exploits, as he and the rest of the Mrozinski family wait for "The Voice" contestant to take the stage.

"We actually giggle when we see him on television," said his sister, Natalie Mrozinski.

Nearly his whole family has turned out to the Greek restaurant where Nicholas David once performed live—and nearly all of them are wearing red "Team CeeLo" T-shirts from "The Voice."

Needless to say, they all erupted in cheers when the screen flashed a live shot of Nicholas.

"We don't even know when he'll be on," David Mrozinski said. "It's all live California time, so we're watching it with the rest of the country."

Stay tuned!

You've rooted for him from the comfort of your couch, now come cheer him on with your friends and community members at Ansari's Mediterranean Grill in Eagan.

Eagan Patch and Ansari's have partnered up to host a viewing party starting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19 to watch Eagan musician Nicholas Mrozinski perform on NBC's "The Voice".

Mrozinski, whose soulful voice and eccentric personality have propelled him through the standings, is expected to give another televised performance on Monday, as the show's viewing audience votes to eliminate two contestants from The Voice.

Nicholas, who grew up in Eagan and attended Eagan High School, needs your support, and there's no better way to show it than to celebrate with friends.

During the viewing party, Patch will be holding a prize drawing and providing limited, free appetizers for attendees. Editor David Henke will also be live-tweeting from and covering the party during the evening. The episode will be shown from a projector screen for your viewing pleasure.

If that's not enough, Patch will also be handing out free swag, and Ansari's will have food and drink specials, including half-price bottles of wine and $4 hummus (Nicholas' favorite appetizer).

For more information about the viewing party, email david.henke@patch.com.
