Speed machine

I would like to thank the cops (opps, police) for putting a speed machine on Helena Ave in the 1900 block.

(East Side of East Side Park)
HOWEVER they put it in the wrong place.
The machine has been placed at the curve where 90% of the drivers DO slow down (not to 30 but to 35) and then once around the curve speed up to 35 and in some cases 40mh.

The machine, which no one pay's any attention to anyway, was requested by this writer, but no real good has been seen in the driving habits yet.

What is needed is a stop sign at Helena Ct and Helena Rd. True, it would add to the traffic noise of HWY 694 which is a matter for another SPEAK OUT, but its not hard to visualize another Oakdale tragedy what with 35-45 mph traffic and walkers and kids on bikes.

FGS, in some places in little towns 25mph is the posted and enforced speed limit and to witness drivers each morning and afternoon doing almost twice that is unnerving.
Just SPEAKING OUT.
