5-Year-Old Boy Injured by SUV, Driver Left the Scene Before Police Arrived

The incident was near Pump It Up on Friday night, Nov. 15.

The driver of a "dark SUV" struck or ran over a 5-year-old boy on Friday in Oakdale and then drove away.

A report from the Oakdale Police Department says the Maplewood boy and his father were near Pump It Up at about 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15.

When an officer arrived at Pump It Up, the boy's father was holding him. The boy had an "injury to the right thigh area, was possibly run over by vehicle," according to the police report.

A witness said she "heard a 'thump,' but did not actually see the accident." She and others at the scene said the vehicle was a "dark SUV."

Paramedics took the boy to the hospital. His condition is not available.
