Affidavit Provides More Details on Oakdale Woman's Murder

Lori Baker's family told police she had been dating the man suspected in her murder, the Pioneer Press reports.

A search warrant including an affidavit from an Oakdale police officer reveals new information about the , 39, who was found dead Dec. 28 in her apartment at Oakdale Village, the Pioneer Press reports.

According to the report, the affidavit states:

  • Family members of Lori Baker told police that she and suspect , 44, were dating.
  • Baker's car keys and car were missing from the scene of the murder. The night her body was discovered, Minneapolis police found two people having sex in the car in the parking lot of an apartment building in the 1600 block of Park Avenue. Police left for another call before realizing that the car was connected to the homicide, and when they returned, the man who had been in the car was gone.
  • There was blood near the driver's side door handle of the car.

Oakdale police officers, a representative from Tubman and Oakdale Village Apartments management met with residents of the complex last week to talk about the incident. Police said at the meeting they were waiting on the results of lab tests before charging Fox with the murder.

Fox was a fugitive when he was arrested Dec. 29, and he was sent to the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Lino Lakes to serve out the remainder of an armed robbery sentence that expires in August of 2013, the Star Tribune reported
