Biking Accident, Stolen TV, Lost Toddler: Oakdale Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Oakdale Police Department from Aug. 25-30.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Aug. 25

A resident called police after his open top convertible appeared to be rifled through while parked on the 1400 block of Goodwin Avenue. Suspects also jammed a stick in the car’s tail pipe, but nothing was taken.

Aug. 26

A biker called police when a car struck him in the crosswalk of 15th Avenue North and Hadley Avenue North. The driver said she had a green light and the biker “came out of nowhere.” No injuries were reported.

A suspect tried to steal a boat located at the 1600 block of Helena Road. The suspect tried to pull the boat through one open side of a chain link fence, scratching it. Nothing was taken from the boat.

Aug. 29

Police responded to an incident at Geneva Village Apartments where a man with a “hand injury” was arrested. The man was in a fight with his girlfriend when he “punched a glass picture...and kicked two holes in the hallway wall.” A witness said the man hit his girlfriend, who was not at the scene.

A suspect threw a rock through an apartment window located on the 1300 block of Gentry Avenue and stole a TV, according to reports.

Aug. 30

A resident called police around 6 a.m. when they saw a toddler wandering around alone near the 7400 block of Hudson Boulevard. Police found the boy and woke the child’s mother by ringing the doorbell of his home. Reports show that the child appeared to be “well cared for,” and the mother plans to install child safety locks.

Mail theft was reported at the 4900 block of Hillvale Avenue N.
