Boy Hit by Car After Getting Off School Bus
A 9-year-old was taken to Regions Hospital after being hit by a car Monday.
A 9-year-old boy was hit by a car on Hydram Avenue shortly after getting of the school bus Monday, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.
He was taken to Regions Hospital with facial and leg injuries, the report says.
The driver of the car said he was driving in the middle of the road—in the 7500 block of Hydram Avenue—because he saw kids that had just gotten off the bus walking on the side of the road, according to the report.

He said heard a bump, and saw the boy crawling to the side of the road, the report says. The driver, a 38-year-old St. Paul man—hadn’t seen the boy walking on the road, he told police. The man’s car wasn’t damaged, and there was no presence of alcohol in his system, the report says. The driver wasn’t cited in connection with the incident, according to the report.
