Car Break-Ins, Burglaries, Damaged Mailboxes: Oakdale Police Blotter

In other reports, a $70 bottle of cologne was stolen from an unlocked vehicle sitting in an open garage.

Here is a selection of incidents that the Oakdale Police Department responded to between June 29 and July 2. 

  • An Oakdale resident who was parked in the Pinz parking lot reported someone had smashed the front and rear passenger side windows of her 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. The estimated value was $300.
  • A resident reported three metal mailboxes on the 2500 block of Hydram Avenue. There was no damage to the metal posts. The estimatedvalue was $75.
  • Three unknown suspects broke into an apartment on the 1200 block of Glenbrook Avenue on July 1. A large amount of property had been stolen valued at more than $14,000. Two stolen bicycles were recovered in nearby area, worth $850. The case is still under investigation.
  • A tan and brown plastic mailbox valued at $90 was stolen between June 30 and July 1.
  • A resident on the 2200 block of Henna Avenue reported that their cement birdbath had been thrown into the street. The birdbath was destroyed and its estimated value was $500. 
  • Fleet Farm employees called police about a 17-year-old boy who had tried to leave Fleet Farm without paying for merchandise. The boy was seen taking the tag off of a horse bit and trying to conceal it in his mother's shopping cart. The juvenile was issued a citation and released to his mother. The horse bit was valued at $44.95.
  • Police responded to a second-degree burglary report on the 7900 block of 9th Street. An unkonwn person entered the home and took $1,370 worth of belongings, including cash, fireworks, jewelry and a CenturyLink Router. There are no suspects at this time. 
  • An unknown suspected entered an open garage on the 7000 block of 43rd Street. The susepct stole a bottle of Dolce Gabbana Cologne out of an unlocked vehicle. The susepct also had entered a second unlocked vehicle in the garage but had not taken anything from that vehicle. The cologne's estimated value was $70.
