Oakdale polcie responded to a theft that occurred on the 3600 block of Gershwin Place in November 2011. The woman making the complaint stated that she had moved in with Ubel, but decided to move out after their relationship "went bad."

The woman told officers that she packed her things, including her jewelry, and moved out. When she unpacked her belongings she noticed some of her jewelry was missing.

The woman was missing a pearl necklace valued at $700, a diamond ring valued at $1,000, a diamond pinky ring valued at $250 and another diamond pinky ring with a gold band valued at $100.

Officers checked with local pawn stores and found that Ubel had recently pawned three rings at Twin Cities Pawn in Oakdale. Two of the three rings matched the description of the woman's jewelry.

During an interview Ubel admitted to taking some of her jewelry without permission.

If found guilty Ubel could spend up to five years in prison and pay up to $10,000 in fines.
