The Oakdale Police Department responded to a call on the 4100 block of Gershwin Avenue. A woman claimed that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her.

The woman told Dodd he could not visit her residence when she was not home because it made her mother uncomfortable. On June 28, Dodd was allegedly calling the woman's residence and throwing items at the door, according to the woman's mother.

When the woman returned home Dodd grabbed her hair and dragged her up the stairs, the woman reported. The woman also told officers that Dodd had pulled out a knife and began making "jerking motions" while threatening to kill and stab the woman.

Officers also interviewed the woman's mother who said she heard them arguing in the hallway and saw Dodd standing over her daughter with some "sort of stick thing." The woman's mother also told officers she saw Dodd making "stabbing like motions" and heard Dodd threaten to kill her daughter.

If found guilty Dodd could spend no more than five years in prison and pay no more than $10,000.
