Complaint: Police Find 42 Files of Child Porn on Oakdale Man's Computer

Nathan Robert Shepherd, 23, was found guilty in Washington County District Court of possessing pornography.

An Oakdale man was recently found guilty of possessing porn on his computer.

Nathan Robert Shepherd, 23, was sentenced in Washington County District Court.

According to the criminal complaint, Oakdale Police received information from a Minneapolis investigator in January 2012 that a computer with an IP address located in Oakdale was downloading and sharing child pornography.

Investigators tracked down an address from the computer's IP address and executed a search warrant. There they found Shepherd, who addmitted in an interview that he had used his computer to download child pornography, according to the complaint.

Officers took the computer and a search of the hard drive revealed 42 child pornography files, in addition to a computer program that allowed the defendant to download child porn, the complaint states.

The court stayed Shepherd's imposition and placed him on probation for five years on certain conditions, including serving 40 days in jail with 39 days stayed and credit for one day served; no use of drugs or alcohol; registering as a sex offender and taking sex offender treatment; no unsupervised contact with minors; a psychosexual evaluation and polygraph testing, among other conditions.
