Former Oakdale Group Home Worker Pleads Guilty to Assaulting Resident

Jude A. Okafor pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

A former employee at an Oakdale group home was convicted last week of sexually assaulting a resident in the group home.

Jude A. Okafor, 41, of St. Paul, was convicted of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct in Washington County District Court on Jan. 17.

Okafor was accused of kissing and molesting a 20-year-old resident in a group home operated by MDM Rubicon in October of 2010. The company denied Okafor access to residents in the home after the report was made, a company spokesman has said.

Okafor pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced to 365 days in jail. The sentence was suspended for two years on the conditions that he have no similar offenses and remain law abiding.
