Homegrown Marijuana, Vandalism, Craigslist Scam: Oakdale Police Blotter

In other reports, a woman called police to have her 'dead stuffed animals' removed from her home.

Here is a selection of incidents that the Oakdale Police Department responded to between June 12 and June 16.

June 16

  • Two 20-year-olds who climbed the water tower at Tower Park were arrested and issued citations for minor consumption, trespassing and violating park hours. Two other teenagers who were seen leaving the location on foot were also given citations for violating park hours. Everyone was released on the scene.

  • A 53-year-old woman was arrested at Fleet Farm for concealing two air fresheners and leaving the store without paying. She was issued a citation for theft and released on the scene.
  • Police arrived at a party at the 7000 block of Hudson Boulevard with a warrant to arrest a man for theft. Charles Doane was arrested on the scene and transported to the Washington County Jail.
  • Police were called to the 1200 block of Granada Avenue when one resident got tired of numerous construction vehicles parked "all over the place." Police spoke with crews, who were working on the road from 10th Street to 15th Street. Construction workers said they would "stay clear."

June 14

  • Police responded to a property damage complaint at the 2000 block of Homestead Avenue. A man said that someone spray painted a black square on his garage. No suspects have been found.
  • A man called police after someone spray painted black paint on his white truck. The vehicle was parked in the street in front of the man's house at the 2000 block of Homestead Avenue.
  • Police responded to a report of a 911 call at the 2000 block of Helena Avenue. An 18-year-old said that he had some friends over and they were "joking around and called 911."
  • A woman called police after she was scammed on Craigslist. She tried to sell a desk to an unknown person who sent her a fraudulent cashier's check for $685.
  • Police went to the 7000 block of 15th Street to check the welfare of a man who stopped taking his bipolar disorder medication. He was "not alert to person, place or time." The man agreed to be evaluated at Regions Hospital.

June 13

  • Police assisted the Washington County Sheriff's Office in executing a search warrant of a home at the 6000 block of 49th Street North. "A marijuana grow was located inside the basement," along with 11 cats. Two residents were arrested and booked at the Washington County Jail.
  • A woman called police when she noticed a man peering into garage windows at the 4000 block of Hamlet Avenue. No suspects have been found.
  • Employees at Fleet Farm called police after they found a man stealing a faucet on a surveillance camera. No arrests have been made because video surveillance needs to be reviewed.
  • Police responded to a report of a theft at the 4000 block of Hamlet Avenue in an underground parking garage. A woman said that a bicycle was stolen from her unlocked car. No suspects have been found.
  • Police were called to the 400 block of Holly Lane North when landscaping employees accidentally cut a home gas line while trimming. The gas meter was shut off and Excel Energy responded to the incident.
  • Police responded to a report of a suicidal female at the 1200 block of Glenbrook Avenue. Upon arrival, the woman said she took "30 mixed pills to kill herself." After she took the pills, she "changed her mind" and called 911. She was transported to Regions Hospital.

June 12

  • Police went to a home located at the 1000 block of Hadley Avenue to check the welfare of a 71-year-old resident. Upon arrival, the resident was crying because "two of her stuffed animals had died." Police removed both stuffed animals and told the apartment manager about the outcome.
  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested for stealing $45 worth of merchandise from Rainbow Foods.  The woman also had a misdemeanor warrant for theft out of Ramsey County. She was transported to the Washington County Jail.
