Lake Elmo Boy Seriously Injured After Crashing Bike into Parked Motorcycle

A 9-year-old Lake Elmo boy was seriously injured Wednesday evening after he collided with a parked motorcycle on Highway 5 near 31st Street, the Minnesota State Patrol is reporting.

A 9-year-old Lake Elmo boy was seriously injured Wednesday evening after he collided with a parked motorcycle on Highway 5 near 31st Street, the Minnesota State Patrol is reporting.

According to the preliminary crash report:

A 46-year-old Lake Elmo man who was driving a 1994 Harley Davidson westbound on Highway 5 in Lake Elmo at about 5:41 p.m. when he pulled over to the right shoulder to address a mechanical issue on the motorcycle.

While parked on the shoulder of the road, a 9-year-old child came out of his driveway riding a bike and broadsided the motorcycle, according to the State Patrol.

The boy, Pierre Leque, 9, of Lake Elmo, was transported to Regions Hospital with serious injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske said no other information about the crash is available at this time.
