Man Charged with Sex Crime Found in Oklahoma

Yayeng Vang had his first appearance in court Tuesday on charges that he molested an 8-year-old girl.

A man charged with molesting an 8-year-old girl in Oakdale was found and arrested in Tulsa, OK, according to a Washington County arrest report.

Yayeng N. Vang, 49, whom court records say lives in St. Paul, is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly inappropriately touching the girl on at least two occasions in early 2011, according to the Washington County District Court Complaint.

The girl’s mother, who lives outside of the country, had established a long-distance relationship with Vang, the complaint says. Prior to flying to meet the girl’s mother, arrangements were made to meet the girl, who was living in Oakdale with a relative, according to the complaint.

The girl told family members and police that Vang reached under her clothing and inappropriately touched her twice while they were alone in his car, the complaint says. In one instance, they were going to pick up pizza and another time they were going to a movie, the complaint says.

In audio recordings between Vang and the girl’s mother, Vang denied touching the girl intentionally, and said he brushed against her and touched her by accident, according to the complaint.
