Oakdale Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Neighbor

Joshua Adewale Olaosebikan faces a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge.

A 32-year-old Oakdale man faces a felony sexual assault charge after he allegedly forced himself on a neighbor in his apartment building in October 2012.

Joshua Adewale Olaosebikan lives in the same apartment complex as the alleged victim, and the incident occurred after she asked to use his phone on Oct. 6, 2012, according to the criminal compliant.

The woman told police she knew Olaosebikan; they attend the same local college, the complaint says.

When she asked to use his phone that day, he suggested they go up to his 40th Street apartment because it was cold outside, according to the complaint.

After she activated her phone, Olaosebikan came on to her, groped her and said he wanted to have sex with her, the complaint alleges. She told him no, reminded him that he’s married, and he forced her to have sex with him, according to the complaint.

After the incident, Olaosebikan sent the woman several text messages asking for her forgiveness, and in an Oct. 13 interview with police he said he wasn’t sure whether the sex was consensual, the complaint says.

A DNA sample from Olaosebikan matched evidence obtained from a Regions Hospital rape kit.

If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine.
