Oakdale Man Caught with Child Pornography

Nathan Robert Shepherd, 23, of Oakdale, appeared in Washington County District Court for possessing child pornography on his computer.

An Oakdale man could face five years in prison after he was busted for having child pornography on his computer.

In early January a Minneapolis police investigator received information that someone using a computer in Oakdale was downloading and sharing child pornography.

On Jan. 26, officers conducted a search warrant at the Oakdale residence. Nathan Robert Shepherd, 23, admitted to officers that he had downloaded the child pornography on his computer, according to the criminal complaint.

A subsequent search revealed 42 child pornography files on his computer. 

If convicted, Shepherd could receive a maximum sentence of five years in prison and pay $5,000 in fines. If Shepherd has a second similar offense then he could face 10 years in prison and pay $20,000 in fines.
