Oakdale Police Blotter: Brown Tank Hit by Thief Again

In other reports, stolen mail results in fraudulent checking account activity, two packages stolen from Oakdale home

Someone stole four 200-pound steel sheets worth $150 each from the parking lot at over the weekend between Dec. 9 and 12, according to an Oakdale Police Department Report.

The business was hit by a similar crime in early November, when someone stole two 900-pound sheets of steel.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police Dec. 12-13:

Dec. 12:

  • A car’s rear bumper and taillight were damaged while it was parked in the 6200 block of 40th Street. The damage repair estimate is $400.
  • A resident in the 1500 block of Goodview Avenue reported that on Nov. 14, they put two bills with checks enclosed in their outgoing mail. The checks were cancelled, however, the companies never received the checks. Five fraudulent transactions had been made from the checking account.
  • Someone fraudulently used an Oakdale man’s debit card to purchase $157 worth of items. The resident has the card in his possession, and he’s unsure how someone got his number.
  • A resident in the 2000 block of Helena Avenue reported that two packages with a total value of $270 were stolen from his property. UPS confirmed that the packages were delivered.
  • Police responded to the 6500 block of Fifth Street to help a woman who was locked out of her home with a six-month-old baby inside. A locksmith came out to unlock the door, and the baby was fine.
  • A student reported that she was using a classmate’s $100 calculator in class, and it was stolen while left unattended in the classroom.
  • Someone stole a math textbook and notebooks from an unlocked gym locker in the boys locker room at .
  • An Oakdale man reported that his wife threatened to kill him during an argument about ongoing marital issues.

  • Someone smashed the rear, driver's-side window of a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 6200 block of Seventh Street causing $250 damage.
