Oakdale Police Blotter: Car Stolen from Movie Theater Lot

In other reports, resident suspects neighbor of throwing tomatoes; deer runs into the side of car on Hadley Avenue

A 1994 Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot Nov. 3, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

The car was stolen between 7 and 9:50 p.m., the report says. The complainant said he’s the only one with a key to the car, according to the report, and there was no sign of vehicle damage in the parking spot where it had been.

The car is worth $2,400, according to the report.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police Nov. 2-5:

  • A $150 iPod Touch was stolen from a classroom between 11:13 and 11:23 a.m.
  • About $1,500 worth of tools were stolen from a truck parked in a driveway in the 4600 block of Hale Avenue about six to seven weeks ago. Someone entered the unlocked topper of the truck bed to steal the tools.

Nov. 3:

  • A resident in the 6700 block of Eighth Street reported that someone has been throwing tomatoes at her house. She reported she has been having an ongoing dispute with a neighbor. Police spoke with the neighbor, who denied that anyone at her house threw the tomatoes.
  • Someone stole a $20 fanny pack containing $70 worth of keys and $300 worth of tools from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Glenbrook Avenue between 11 a.m. Nov. 2 and 4 p.m. the next day.
  • An Oakdale woman reported that while driving south on Hemingway Avenue, another vehicle turned north from Stillwater Boulevard and was driving in her lane. She swerved to miss the vehicle and hit a large tree. The left front of the car was damaged. The other vehicle left the scene.
  • Someone stole a $150 GPS device from a car parked in the 6100 block of 22nd Street Court between 10 p.m. Nov. 2 and 8 a.m. the next day.
  • Someone broke out the back window of a car parked in the 600 block of Guthrie Avenue and stole a $500 laptop. The property damage estimate was $200.
  • A 42-year-old Oakdale man was arrested in the 1400 block of Goodwin Avenue for allegedly punching the mother of his children in the face and head with a closed fist. There was redness and swelling on the woman's face.

Nov. 4:

  • An Oakdale woman reported that a deer ran into the side of her car while she was heading south on Hadley Avenue near city hall. The deer fled. There was minor damage to the woman’s front wheel wells and headlight housing.
  • A $200 cell phone, $200 iPod Touch, $5 T-shirt and $11 makeup brush set were stolen from the girls locker room between 12:54 and 1:44 p.m. The complainant said that two friends, a 15- and 16-year-old admitted to taking the items, however one of the friends denied it, and at the time of the report, police had not spoken with the other friend. Video surveillance shows the two leaving when the gym class entered the locker room.
  • Someone smashed the rear passenger wing window out of a car parked in the 4000 block of Geneva Avenue between 7 p.m. Nov. 3 and 6 p.m. Nov. 4. Nothing was stolen from the car. The property damage estimate is $550.

Nov. 5:

  • A 21-year-old Oakdale man was arrested at around 2:15 a.m. for allegedly claiming to have a gun and threatening to shoot everyone, and for allegedly punching a female in the face. He also was allegedly in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
  • Someone stole $1,010 worth of items from a locked vehicle parked in an alley in the 500 block of Goodview Avenue between 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. Stolen items include a $100 GPS device, $600 tile cutter, $60 calculator and $250 jackhammer. There was no damage to the vehicle.
