Oakdale Police Blotter: Daycare Center Burglarized, Items Worth Thousands Stolen

was burglarized between 6 p.m. Oct. 21 and 6 a.m. Oct. 24, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.
Police found one rear doorknob damaged and one rear door to the building unlocked, the report says.
In the burglary, an $1,800 computer, two $100 phones, checks and food were stolen, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

The total value of the items stolen is $4,000 and the property damage estimate is $500, the report says.

Oct. 23:
- Someone cut the padlock off a shed in the 6000 block of 43rd Street and stole an “S” shaped metal base for a coffee table worth $200.
- A manager at reported that a 39-year-old woman and 40-year-old man, both from Oakdale, refused to pay their $60 bill. The manager knew where they lived, and told police. When police went to the home, the female suspect came to the front door, but refused to answer it.
- A employee reported that she found two people sleeping in a stairway around 10 p.m. and after she kicked them out she got a complaint that they were asking for money in the parking lot. Police located the couple trying to sleep in a third floor stairway, and escorted them out of the building.
Oct. 24:
- A $329 cell phone was stolen between 9:16 and 10:11 a.m. from the girls locker room at while its owner was in gym class.
- While paying for merchandise at the , a man reported that he dropped an envelope from his pocket that contained $2,200 in cash. After he left, a man who was standing in the same spot as him was seen reaching down to the floor and putting something in his pocket. Police are contacting the possible suspect.
- A 15-year-old male was arrested in the 1200 block of Glenbrook Avenue on a body only warrant for fifth-degree narcotics.
- A employee was cited for allegedly putting a $20 bill in his pocket on Oct. 18, and spending it later at Gamestop. The employee said it was unintentional.
Oct. 25:
- Two women left at about 10:21, and one of them carried a $500 laptop computer out of the store without paying for it. An off-duty Oakdale police officer saw the women getting into a car. He identified himself verbally and with a badge, but the suspects fled.
- Between 6 p.m. Oct. 20 and 6 a.m. Oct. 24 someone entered a fenced in area and stole a plastic tote from Minneapple Montessori containing $100 worth of items.
- Someone fraudulently used an Oakdale woman’s debit card, which had been stolen, at the drive-through on Oct. 19. The card was also fraudulently used at Target.
