Oakdale Police Blotter: Man Allegedly Pointed Gun During Argument

In other reports, huge rat sighted on Helmo, multiple cases of financial card fraud.

An Oakdale man was arrested for second-degree domestic assault Monday, Oct. 17, for allegedly pointing a revolver at two people during a domestic dispute, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

Regis E. Harper, 26, allegedly pointed the gun at a 20-year-old man and threatened to shoot him if he didn’t leave during an argument, according to the report. He also allegedly pointed a gun at a woman who was pulling on his arm during the altercation, which took place in the 4000 block of Gershwin Avenue, the report says.

Police executed a search warrant and found a .38 caliber Colt revolver and five live rounds of ammunition at the scene of the incident, according to the report.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police Oct. 17-18:

  • An Oakdale woman reported that someone fraudulently used her debit card number to purchase $300 worth of items over the Internet.
  • A resident in the 1300 block of Gentry Avenue reported that someone stole $100 cash from inside her home between 8:45 a.m. Oct. 14 and 11 a.m. Oct. 15.
  • An anonymous complainant reported that there was a large rat running across the road in the 1500 block of Helmo Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 15. The complainant was concerned for the safety of children. 
  • A Roseville man reported that his 3M credit card was stolen and used at in Oakdale on Friday, Oct. 14, to make two purchase totaling $913.
  • A Lake Elmo man reported that his car was damaged in a hit-and-run accident while parked at or in Oakdale between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 14. His car received $1,500 worth of damage to the rear right wheel well and rear passenger door.
  • An Oakdale woman reported that two teenage males who had been sitting on her deck in the 7100 block of 16th Street while waiting for her son to come home had been spitting on the deck boards. She told the teens to clean up the spit, which they did, however they dropped the napkins they used in the street. She asked for police assistance in getting them to clean up the deck and napkins. Police spoke with the teens in the skate park, and they returned and cleaned up the mess.
  • A complainant reported that she forgot her $50 cell phone in a restroom at , and when she returned to get it, it had been taken.
  • An Oakdale resident reported that her husband used his credit card to buy gas at Food ‘n’ Fuel on Sept. 26, and about seven hours later, the card was used again at the gas station to fraudulently purchase gas. There were no other unauthorized purchase on the card.
  • The Oakdale Fire Department responded to the 2300 block of Hamlet Avenue around 6:50 p.m. to extinguish a car fire. The car was fully engulfed in flames.
  • A resident in the 6300 block of 13th Street reported that after his roomate moved out on Oct. 14, his $600 Xbox and a $20 check from his employer were missing.

Oct. 18:

  • A woman reported that after leaving at 1 a.m. with a man she had just met, the man stole her purse. The purse was on the floor of the vehicle between her feet while she and the man were in her car. The man left the vehicle on foot with two other men. She didn’t see the theft or see the man with her purse. The purse contained gift cards, credit cards, a checkbook and a driver’s license. The total value of the items stolen is $68.
