Oakdale Police Blotter: Man Arrested in Domestic Assault Incident

In other reports, a man said someone racked up thousands in hospital bills under his name, and an argument between family members led to a request for criminal charges.

A 33-year-old Oakdale man was arrested Sunday, Feb. 5, for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

Police found the woman in a car in the 5000 block of Hadley Avenue with a swollen lip, cut tongue and bloody nose at about 2:15 p.m., the report says.

She said her boyfriend slapped her, put a knife to her throat and then choked her, the report says. He then punched her while she was holding their son, according to the report.

Police arrested the man at an Oakdale home in the 6800 block of Grenwich Lane, and collected bloody towels and a knife as evidence, the report says. The woman drove herself to a hospital to get stitches, according to the report.

Feb. 5:

  • A 20-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested in the 900 block of Greenway Avenue for allegedly punching his girlfriend during a fight. He reportedly struck her with a closed fist to the left side of the jaw. The woman had minor redness and swelling.

Feb. 6:

  • An Oakdale man reported that sometime in 2004 or 2005 an unknown person put charges of $880 and $11,071 from a hospital in Denver under his name. He said he has never been hospitalized. He reported that his estranged father has used his identity in the past.
  • Someone broke out the passenger side window of a car parked in the lot at between 5:30 and 6:40 p.m. causing $150 damage. Nothing was stolen from the car.
  • A resident in the 6800 block of 14th Street reported that her adult son had pushed a ladder over in the garage during an argument, causing $699 damage to a parked vehicle. She said she didn’t think the damage was intentional. The vehicle’s owner requested criminal charges against the son.
  • During a random license registration check of a car parked at , an officer found that the registered owner had a felony warrant. He was arrested without incident.
  • An officer was called to an Oakdale home on a report of a 14-year-old runaway who returned home. The officer found that the girl had voluntarily had sex with a 22-year-old in Willmar. The Willmar Police Department was notified of the incident.
