Oakdale Police Blotter: Man Arrested on Domestic Assault Charges

An Oakdale man was arrested for allegedly beating and strangling his girlfriend.

A 24-year-old Oakdale man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly choking, kicking and punching his girlfriend, according to an Oakdale police report.

Police were called around 5 a.m. Tuesday to a residence in the 7500 block of 15th Street, according to the report. When they got there, they found the man’s girlfriend had extensive visible injuries, the report says.

In addition to the alleged assault, the man also allegedly prevented the woman from calling 911.

He was arrested on pending charges of felony and misdemeanor domestic assault and 911 interference.

 Jan. 31:

  • Oakdale police assisted with a rollover accident around 8:30 a.m. at Interstate 694 and Highway 36 until the Minnesota State Patrol arrived. No one was injured.
  • A 30-year-old Oakdale woman reported that items were stolen from her purse while she was extremely intoxicated at . Stolen items include a wallet containing her driver’s license, debit card, cell phone (worth $100) and various keys. The total value of the items stolen is $146.
  • The parents of four Tartan High School students were notified after police determined they had been involved with shooting a fire extinguisher in a stairwell at the school.
  • Police responded to an accident involving a school bus at about 3 p.m. in the 2700 block of Geneva Avenue. There were no injuries.

 Feb. 1:

  • A complainant reported that between 1:50 and 2:43 p.m. her pink and silver Coach purse was stolen from a classroom while left unattended for a few minutes. The purse was later found, but the complainant’s $330 cell phone was missing.
  • A complainant reported that on Jan. 28 someone stole his cell phone from Tartan High School after he inadvertently left it in a classroom.
  • A complainant reported that between 1:50 and 2:43 p.m. someone stole her iPod Nano and cell phone from the girls locker room at . The items—valued at $300—were stolen from a backpack in an unlocked locker. Another complainant reported that during the same time period, her backpack, containing a textbook and calculator, was stolen from an unlocked locker in the Tartan girls locker room.

 Feb. 2:

  • An Oakdale resident reported paying $36 for a one-year magazine subscription to a solicitor in October, but never receiving the magazine.
