Oakdale Police Blotter: Oakdale Bierstube Burglarized

In other reports, a teenage daughter runs up a hefty iTunes bill (without permission) and a motorcyclist is clocked at 130 mph

The Tartan Area Youth Hockey Association was among the victims of a burglary at Oakdale's

Burglars stole more than $5,000 from the association's pull-tab booth, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

Police were called to the restaurant at 7:41 a.m. Monday morning, the report says.

Restaurant surveillance video showed that two men arrived at the rear door of the restaurant around 4:58 a.m. in a U-Haul truck and tried to pry it open, according to another police report. Then, they entered the restaurant through the front door, the report says, damaged an ATM and stole the money from the booth.

They caused $4,000 worth of damage to the ATM, $3,000 worth of damage to the rear door and $500 worth of damage to the pull-tab booth, the reports say.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police April 30:

  • An Oakdale woman reported that her 15-year-old daughter made $403 worth of purchases on iTunes using her credit and debit cards without her consent between March 28 and April 16. The teen admitted to making the charges.
  • A 24-year-old Coon Rapids man was cited after police caught him driving a motorcycle at 130 mph down Interstate 694. The man’s permit did not allow highway driving, or driving at night. The owner of the motorcycle, who was following behind, also only had a permit, so the police had the motorcycle towed.
  • A 19-year-old male admitted to punching a 17-year-old male in the face in the 6200 block of 45th Street. The teen was treated at Woodwinds Hospital for a chipped tooth and a broken jaw. The 19-year-old, who was a friend of the victim, told police that the attack was not provoked. 
  • A $150 GPS device was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 7500 block of 19th Street between April 28 and 29.
  • An Oakdale man reported that someone made unauthorized purchases totaling $437 on his debit card in Indiana and Illinois. The man was in possession of the card.
  • Someone broke out the rear, passenger-side window of a car parked at between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. and stole a bag of softball equipment worth $400. The property damage estimate was $500.
  • Someone punctured two tires and threw eggs on a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 4800 block of Grenwich Trail between 9 p.m. April 29 and 4 a.m. the next day. The property damage estimate is $200.
