Oakdale Police Blotter: Oakdale Man Punched Over Driving Incident

In other reports, police shot a dog that acted aggressively toward passers-by and police.

An Oakdale resident was assaulted Monday, May 9, after he cut off a motorcyclist, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

The resident told police that he accidentally cut off three motorcyclists on westbound Highway 36 at Interstate 694, and one of the motorcyclists started following him, the report says. The man followed him home, and then punched him three times in the face while he was in his vehicle, according to the report.

The man said he did not want to pursue charges, but just wanted the information to be noted, according to the report.

  • A resident in the 1200 block of Gentry Avenue reported that a man threw a baseball sized piece of glass through both panes of glass on his patio door causing $600 worth of damage and then fled.
  • A black purse containing a $600 camera, $200 phone and other items was reported stolen from the .

 May 9:

  • A 14-year-old girl and 24-year-old woman were cited for stealing $150 worth of items from by concealing it in a large purse.
  • A resident in the 6000 block of 52nd street reported that while he was in jail from May 6 to May 9 an Xbox 360, eight Xbox games, a Blu-Ray player, other items and $170 cash were stolen from his apartment. The total value of the stolen items is $1,250.

May 10:

  • Police shot a black Labrador retriever that had been acting aggressively toward officers. Police had been looking for the dog after getting complaints that it was acting aggressively toward passers-by on the north side of 40th Street east of Interstate 694. They found the dog  in the 7200 block of 40th Street and used a tranquilizer on it, but it ran off into a wooded area. Police later located the dog in the same wooded area and killed it.
  • The tires on a vehicle parked in the 6400 block of Upper 53rd Street were slashed, causing $395 damage.
  • Miscellaneous tools with a total value of $450 were stolen from an unattached garage in the 6300 block of 25th Street. The service door to the garage was unlocked.
  • Subwoofers and an amplifier with a total value of $550 were stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of Greystone Avenue.
  • Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Greystone Avenue and took a Wells Fargo debit card from the complainant’s wallet. Nothing else was taken.
  • An Oakdale resident reported receiving a letter mailed from Canada by a business called “Global Test Market,” which included a check for $3,990. The letter asked the complainant to participate in a shopper program and the check was meant to be payment for work. The complainant did not cash the check.
  • Someone struck and dented the left rear quarter panel of a car parked in the parking lot between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. causing $800 damage.
  • Between 9 p.m. May 9 and 5:30 a.m. May 10 someone stole a $225 GPS unit and a $30 anti-theft lock nut key for wheel rims from a vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Helena Road.
