Oakdale Police Blotter: Restaurant Owner Cited for Assault

The owner of DeMori's Restaurant allegedly assaulted a man who was serving him with papers.

The owner of restaurant allegedly assaulted a man who had stopped at the restaurant to serve him with legal paperwork on Wednesday, Aug. 10, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

After the Metro Legal employee gave Dennis A. Woulfe, 61, of Grey Cloud Island Township, the paperwork, Woulfe allegedly went after the man from behind and shoved the paperwork down the back of the man’s shirt scratching his neck in the process, according to the report. 

The complainant, who reported the incident at about 2:30 p.m., was scared Woulfe would escalate further, the report says.

Woulfe was cited for fifth-degree assault and released on the scene, according to the report.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police Aug. 10-11:

Aug 10:

  • Someone spray painted “Latin Kings” on an overhead garage door in the 4000 block of Granada Avenue between 9 p.m. and midnight Aug. 9 causing $200 damage.
  • Someone spray painted “Killaz” on the windshield and slashed the right front tire of a car parked in a lot in the 3900 block of Granada Avenue between 5 p.m. Aug. 9 and 4:30 a.m. the next day.
  • Someone entered a home in the 6800 block of Eighth Street Lane without using force, ransacked it and stole collector’s coins, and possibly other items between Aug. 5 and Aug. 10. The coins are worth $100.
  • A resident in the 500 block of Gentry Avenue reported finding the box from a $50 progressive snapshot device that his son had ordered. The device was missing from the open box, and it is unknown when the package was delivered.
  • Someone spray painted “Latin King” on a truck parked in a driveway in the 6600 block of Gretchen Lane between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 9 and 5:15 a.m. the next day. The driver’s side window had also been scratched by a large rock. The damage estimate is $500.
  • An Oakdale man reported that around 8 p.m. while walking his black Labrador retriever in a pitbull or bulldog got away from its owners and attacked his dog. The owners took the dog and left the park. The Labrador had blood on its head, but no visible injuries.
  • An Oakdale man reported that a 55-year-old woman with no permanent address called him and asked him to pick her up from detox on Aug. 6 and he invited her to stay at his home. On Aug. 6 or 7, she punched him in the eye causing redness and a mark. Then, on Aug. 10, she left with his money and returned and kicked his door in. He turned in her purse to police and said he wished to pursue charges.
  • A resident in the 1100 block of Goodview Avenue reported that someone had crashed into the post on which his and his neighbor’s mailboxes are mounted around 9 p.m. A piece of gray bumper cover and an inner front right wheel well for a Honda Accord were found at the scene. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

Aug. 11:

  • Oakdale police assisted the North St. Paul Police department with a car crash at 40th Street and Ideal Avenue that started with a pursuit at 40th Street and Granada Avenue.
