Oakdale Police Blotter: Woman Swindled by Supposed Employer

In other reports, a psychic contacted the police department to warn them of a murder and a dog was classified as dangerous after a bite.

An Oakdale woman reported Dec. 8 that she was swindled after answering a Craigslist ad for a job, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

She started working for “Cipla Healthcare” by doing data entry on Nov. 25, the report says. She was then mailed a check for $2,505.15 and deposited it into her bank account. She then wired $2,100 to a vendor and used $200 as the wire fee, according to the report.

She was sent a second check for $2,490, and she was supposed to do the same thing, the report says. She never wired the money a second time, and the total amount she lost is $2,122.26, according to the report.
