Oakdale Police, K-9, Helicopter Search for Robbery Suspect

Police searched early Monday morning for a suspect in an aggravated robbery of a pizza delivery driver.

Oakdale police searched early Monday morning for a suspect wanted in connection with the aggravated robbery of a pizza delivery driver, said Oakdale Community Affairs Officer Michelle Stark.

Just after midnight, the suspect approached the delivery person while she was in her vehicle, according to a press release from the Oakdale Police Department. He took two cell phones and cash, the release says.

A K-9 unit and Minnesota State Patrol helicopter assisted in the search, which took place north of the 1300 block of Gentry Avenue, according to a CodeRED alert sent out around 1:12 a.m. to nearby residents by Washington County.

They were searching for a black male, about 5-foot-6-inches tall, with a medium build, according to the alert. He was seen wearing a black sweatshirt with a small pistol, the alert says.

Another aggravated robbery took place at 9:48 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Subway restaurant in the 1100 block of Geneva Avenue, according to the press release. A black man pointed a handgun at store employees and demanded money, the release says. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the release.

Police aren't sure whether the two robberies are related, the release says.

I live within a block and a half of this location and did not get a call from CodeRed. But a co worker who lives a couple of miles from the location did get a call. Is there anyone to call to report this issue?

I am already signed up but didn't get a call nor a text on my cell. I have updated it today to include my landline. I was just wondering if it should be reported and to whom. :)

You have to live within a certain distance of the incident I believe.

Kim, I just checked with the sheriff's office. You can email wcso.code-red@co.washington.mn.us or call 651-439-9381 to report the issue. They said email would work best. Thanks for the question!

Thank you I will do that. I live approx 1 block from the incident and my co worker lives much farther.

I agree with Kim, I already signed up but did not get the call on Sunday. I heard the helicopter so I was looking out the patio window to see if I could see anything. I live close to this location. I did try signing up again and it states my phone number is already active.

I emailed and already received a response. They are going to inactivate the account that seems to be associated with my home phone number so I can create a new account. Just waiting on the confirmation email to re-create.

have talked to someone and I am waiting for a call back. I tried emailing them twice and received an undeliverable email back. Hopefully, we won't need to get another call or update but just in case it would be nice to be kept in the loop.
