An Oakdale priest who was charged with sexually assaulting two boys has also been charged with possessing child pornography.
Curtis Carl Wehmeyer, 48, was charged earlier this week with 17 counts of possessing child pornography, according to the Pioneer Press.
Wehmeyer, who was the former paster of the Parish of the Blessed Sacrament in St. Paul, was also charged in September with three counts of criminal sexual conduct.
Wehmeyer will make his first appearance in Ramsey District Court today (Oct. 10) on both charges.
The two boys who reported the alleged sexual abuse stated that Wehmeyer would show them pornography on his laptop computer before and during the abuse, the Pioneer Press reports.
A St. Paul investigator retrieved the laptop computer from the church's rectory with a search warrant on July 7. The investigator found three videos and 14 photos "depicting sex acts involving prepubescent boys," according to the Pioneer Press.
