Both parties told police they had gotten into an argument after the man returned home from a bar, according to the complaint. She, too, had been to the bar earlier, and police noticed a strong odor of alcohol on her breath.

The man also had injuries to his hands, the complaint says, and the knife was found on a kitchen counter. He also told police she pushed him and at no time did he retaliate. During the argument she grabbed the knife from a vase next to the stove and cut his neck, drawing blood, according to the complaint.
