Officer Finds Meth in Woman's Car, She 'Forgot It Was There'

An Oakdale woman's probation officers found drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine in her car during a scheduled visit. 

Melody Ann Perzichilli, 40, was found guilty of fifth degree drug possession in Washington County District Court. 

According to the complaint: 

Probation officers through Washington County Community Corrections met with Perzichilli in December 2011.

During their scheduled visit the probation officers searched her vehicle and found a loaded syringe with an unknown substance, small plastic baggies containing controlled substances, a glass smoking pipe containing controlled substances and a bag of syringes and other drug paraphernalia.

The drugs tested postive for methamphetamine. 

The woman said she recently tested postive for drugs on a urine test and that she is "addicted to opiates and takes opiates with syringes." The woman also admitted to smoking methamphetamine in the past.

The woman told the officers that she didn't know how the drug paraphernalia got into her vehicle, but also said that some of the items must be hers. She said she "simply forgot" they were in the vehicle.

The court stayed the imposition of Perzichilli's sentence and put her on probation for 10 years under certain conditions, including serving 15 days in jail with credit for 15 days served, completing cognitive skills programming, no drug use and random drug testing and paying $50 in fines.
