Police Find Meth, Stolen Computer After Stopping Oakdale Woman for Expired Car Tabs

Danielle Brand, 25, made her first appearance in Washington County Court for first-degree drug possession and receiving stolen property. Both are felonies.

An Oakdale woman could face 30 years in prison after police found more than 130 grams of methamphetamine in her car.

On May 22, Danielle J. Brand, 25, was driving a 2004 Cadillac Escalade eastbound on Valley Creek Road in Woodbury. Woodbury Police saw that her tabs had expired and attempted to pull her over.

As the officer began following Brand she rapidly sped up and turned onto northbound 494. The officer activated his squad lights and followed her — matching her speed at 72 miles per hour — until she finally pulled over on 10th Street just east of Hadley Avenue in Oakdale, according to the criminal complaint.

A Washington County deputy joined the scene with his canine partner and searched the vehicle. During the search the officer found a brown bag filled with some plastic baggies with methamphetamine. One baggied weighed 128.03 grams and the second bag weighed 3.28 grams.

The officer also found an HP Probook laptop computer. A check on the serial number showed that the laptop was reported stolen from the Glenwood City Public Library in March 2011 and was valued at $1,008.41, according to the complaint.
