Priest arrested in Oakdale also has DWI record

The St. Paul priest accused of sexual conduct with a minor also has a DWI record.

The St. Paul priest suspected of sexual assault against a minor also has a DWI record.

Curtis Carl Wehmeyer, 47, was after a juvenile male came forward to authorities about sexual abuse that occurred during a two-year period.

Wehmeyer was the pastor of the Parish of the Blessed Sacrament in St. Paul, but once accusations of sexual abuse emerged the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis removed Wehmeyer from all ministerial duties. 

Wehymeyer has not been formally charged. Police are investigating the case as a sexual assault.

According to the Pioneer Press, Wehmeyer was also convicted of a DWI in 2009. The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office received a complaint on Sept. 29, 2009 of a man in his 40s who was asking 18-year-olds and 21-year-olds at a gas station where the bars were and if they knew about any parties going on.

That night Wehmeyer had a blood-alcohol concentration of .12. The legal limit to drive is .08. He pleaded guilty to the DWI in October 2009 and was sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years of supervised probation, according to the Pioneer Press report
