Reckless Driving, Domestic Assault, Mail Theft: Oakdale Police Blotter

Here is a selection of incidents the Oakdale Police Department responded to from Aug. 14 to Aug. 17.

The following is a summary of some of the incidents that occurred in Oakdale between Aug. 14 and Aug. 17 as provided by the Oakdale Police Department.

Aug. 14

  • A 33-year-old Robbinsdale man was arrested on the 1200 block of Glenbrook Avenue in Oakdale for domestic assault and reckless driving. A complainant called the police claiming the man swerved at him while he was standing in the road. The complainant said he saw the man grab a woman by the neck. The victim later told officers the two were arguing when he grabbed her neck with both hands, causing visible red marks. 

Aug. 15

  • A GPS system was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 1100 block of Guthrie Avenue. The GPS was worth $69.

  • Police responded to a mail theft report on the 6400 block of Upper 54th Street. A man said his daughter went to pick up his mail and found a key for a package mailbox in his regular mailbox. His daughter went to find the package in the mailbox but it was missing. The victim did not know what was in the package. 
  • Police recovered stolen property on the 6200 block of Sixth Street North. Officers found a grey safe with the door pried open. The safe was empty. 
  • A woman reported that her 11-year-old son was ganged up on and assaulted by several juveniles. The boy told officers that other children had kicked him and threw sand at him. Parents of all children involved were notified. 
  • Police responded to shoplifting report from Fleet Farm. a 14-year-old boy tried to leave the store with 6" lizards and snap swivels. The theft value was $5.98.
