Suspect Charged for Oakdale Bar Burglary

Jason Evan Mann, 52, of Brooklyn Park, was charged for second degree burglary in Washington County District Court for an incident at Bierstube Bar in Oakdale.

A Brooklyn Park man was charged for second degree burglary at Bar in Oakdale this spring.

Jason Evan Mann, 52, was charged in Washington County District Court last week.

On April 30, Bierstube reported a burglary. Surveillance footage showed two men pull up behind Bierstube in a U-haul truck around 5 a.m. The men used crowbars to break open the rear door to the restaurant. The damage to the door was at least $2,500.

Surveillance footage showed that one of the men had a distinct limp.

The men broke into a pull tab booth in the restaurant, which is operated by the  Tartan Youth Hockey Association. The total loss from the pull tab booth was $5,751. The estimated damage cost was $500. The men also broke into an ATM at the restaurant, which suffered $2,142 worth of damage.

An Oakdale investigator spoke with a Woobury police officer who informed the Oakdale officer about Mann, who has a distinct limp and had been arrested several times in the last year for burglarizing businesses. 

Oakdale officers were informed that Mann was being held at Hennepin County Jail on and went to interview Mann on May 3. Mann had been arreseted on May 2 and police found $2,260 in his pockets, which is nearly half of the amount stolen from Bierstube. 

The Oakdale police also recieved information from an investigator with the Bloomington police who had surveillance footage of two men burglarizing a Subway Restaurant around 3 a.m. on April 30. The two men were driving a U-haul truck and matched the description in Bierstube's surveillance footage. 

If Mann is found guilty he could spend up to 10 years in prison and pay up to $20,000 in fines.
