Report: Oakdale Woman, Two Children Hospitalized After Being Struck on Radio Drive

The incident happened at about noon on Monday; the three were transported to Regions Hospital with serious injuries.

Three pedestrians were hit by a car Monday while crossing Radio Drive in Woodbury.

They were transported to Regions Hospital with serious injuries, Woodbury Police Cmdr. Jay Alberio told Patch. The incident occurred at about noon on Monday.

A woman and two young children were crossing from the west side of Radio Drive along Central Park Place when a vehicle taking a left turn and heading south out of the  area hit them, Alberio said.

Their injuries are not considered life-threatening, Alberio told the Pioneer Press. The individuals have been identified as a 28-year-old Oakdale woman and her two children, ages 2 and 4.

CBS Local is reporting that the driver was an 81-year-old Woodbury woman.

It’s not believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident, he said.

It’s thought that both the pedestrians and the car had green lights at the time, Alberio said. The people were in the crosswalk.

Police were planning to interview witnesses, he said.

The State Patrol and Woodbury’s traffic-safety officer will be investigating, Alberio said.

A section of Radio Drive in front of the  was closed off to traffic Monday afternoon.
