I really hope there was no taxpayer money spent on this. Way to congratulate yourselves Washington County Sheriffs Department! I must have missed the segment about them keeping us safe from .08er's, rolling stoppers, un-belted drivers, GPS's stuck to the windshield, those radical drivers with no proof of insurance and the super dangerous window tint.

Um...Markus...you don't want protection from Drunk drivers and un-safe drivers? Really....Keep it intelligent or keep off. Seriously, what a dumb rant.

Markus, next time you need the police, call a crack head.

I don't need protection from some guy who has had two beers at Applebees and doesn't wear his seat belt. He's probably a thousand times safer than a stone-sober 16 year old. I'm not worried about somebody t-boning me at an intersection because they have no proof of insurance either. My 26 year old daughter got a $135 ticket because her tint was too dark in her sedan. What's interesting is the newer Tahoes the cops are using have really dark tint even on the front door windows. I could barely make out the Trooper taking radar on me the other day. It's a little bit of a double standard. In MN, SUV's have different standards for tint than cars. Hmmm... I wonder why? By the way, cops don't protect us, they respond to crime. Whenever I've needed their help, it's like pulling teeth. When my kid's $400 bike was stolen out of the front yard in broad daylight, they were perturbed I was bothering them and reluctantly "took a report". They never tried to recover the bike. However they had no problem pulling my other kid over and giving her a ticket for having an air freshener hanging from her rear view mirror. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against cops in general, just some cops who are more worried about writing DWI's for .08 and window tint tickets than actually "protecting and serving". Is that a more intelligent rant for you?

Meanwhile, we can't even keep the libraries open. Yikes.
