Worker Says Man Stole Bullets, Traffic Stop Recovers Sawed-Off Shotgun: Police Report

One man was booked at the Washington County Jail following the March 19 incident.

Employees at Fleet Farm told police a man fled when confronted about stolen bullets on March 19, and during a subsequent traffic stop officers recovered a sawed-off shotgun, according to an Oakdale police report.

A worker at about 1:15 p.m. flagged down and officer and gave the description of a suspect involved in a possible theft, along with the license plate number of the man’s vehicle, the report says.

Police conducted a traffic stop and found two men in the vehicle, one of whom is a felon. The $13 box of ammunition was found in the car, along with the illegally altered weapon, according to the report.

In addition, officers found a syringe containing a cloudy liquid thought to be a controlled substance in the vehicle, which was later impounded, the report says.

One man was booked and held on possible weapons and drug charges.
