Annual Hearing on City Taxes at Tuesday’s Oakdale City Council Meeting

Oakdale’s Finance Director is scheduled to give her annual presentation on the city’s budget and tax levy at the Oakdale City Council meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Oakdale is one of three Washington County cities to reduce its tax levy in 2012, according to a report by city staff on the budget.

Oakdale is reducing its levy by 1 percent, Landfall is proposing a decrease of 2 percent and Mahtomedi is proposing a 2.3 percent decrease, according to a report provided to the City Council.

The council is also scheduled to discuss entering into a pre-development agreement with Kansas-based Fairway Suites, which is proposing to lease land from the city at Oak Marsh Golf Course and construct a hotel there. That discussion will take place at the council’s workshop meeting Tuesday at 5 p.m.
