Both Oakdale House Reps Vote 'Yes' on Same-Sex Marriage Bill

Both Oakdale representatives said yes to the same-sex marriage bill on Thursday afternoon.

 

The Minnesota House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that would extend marriage to same-sex couples.

Reps. Leon Lillie (D-43B) and JoAnn Ward (D-53A), who represent Oakdale, both voted in favor of the measure, which passed in a 75-59 vote.

The bill will go to the Senate floor Monday. If passed, Gov. Mark Dayton will be the last step to sign the bill into law.
