Do You Have What it Takes to be a Firefighter?

The Oakdale Fire Department is now accepting applications for volunteer firefighters.

Are you looking for a new volunteer opportunity for a new year?

Then you might want to consider the Oakdale Fire Department.

The department is now accepting volunteer firefighter applications.

Each year, the OFD responds to more than 2,000 calls for service, including fire, emergency medical, vehicle accidents and other emergency and non-emergency situations.

The department is a combination of paid-per-call and full-time fire personnel. The crew, comprised of Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics, provide both basic and advanced life support.

According to a release from the city:

Volunteer firefighting is very rewarding and a valuable way to serve your community. It takes dedication and it takes time and for those willing and able to commit to being a volunteer firefighter, the reward is immeasurable.

Those interested in applying must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, have reliable transportation and live within six minutes of either the north station or south station.

Additional requirements are included in the application materials, available on the Fire Department page at www.ci.oakdale.mn.us.

Inquires can be made to: Chad.Parent@oakdalefire.com or 651-731-8886.
