Editor's Notebook: Developer Interested in Putting Rental Housing on Tanner's Lake Site
Also, a religious group that used to own the Circle-C Convenience Center next to Menards is in bankruptcy court.
Developer Looking at Tanner's Lake Site: A developer has had preliminary discussions with the City of Oakdale, expressing interest in the Tanner’s Lake redevelopment site, Assistant to the City Administrator Dave Schaps told the Oakdale Economic Development Commission Wednesday. The developer is thinking of putting rental housing on the site, and plans to return with more details about the plan, and possibly a rendering, in the coming weeks, Schaps said. The 4-acre site is located just north of Interstate 94 and east of Century Avenue.
Religious Group that Owned Gas Station in Bankruptcy Court: The company that owned the former Circle-C Convenience Center next to Menards and its lawyer might have to pay $10,000 each in fines after writing that the judge in the case was a “Catholic Knight Witch Hunter,” a “black-robed bigot” and other names in a legal filing, the Pioneer Press reported. (The full judge’s order is available on the Wall Street Journal Law Blog.) Another Pioneer Press story on the case details how the judge has had trouble getting the company to turn over all of the documents necessary for bankruptcy proceedings. According to Washington County property records, Vermillion State Bank is the current owner of the former gas station building.
