News Conference on Justice System Veterans Program

A press release from Washington County:

The Washington County Attorney’s Office will hold a news conference Monday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m., at the Washington County Government Center in Stillwater to introduce its Veterans Program.

The Veterans Program will provide a coordinated response to the needs of justice-involved veterans by employing the unique partnership between the criminal justice system, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and local treatment providers. These partners will structure treatment and support intervention with the authority and personal involvement of a Veterans Program judge. Scheduled speakers are: Peter Orput, Washington County Attorney; George Kuprian, Washington County Attorney’s office Chief of Civil Division; Brock Hunter and John Baker, criminal defense attorneys and veteran advocates; Hector Matascastillo, veteran advocate.

The event will be at the Washington County Government Center in Stillwater in the Washington County Board Room.
