The snow hasn’t even started yet, but Oakdale’s public works department is already planning for next spring.
The Oakdale City Council approved the feasibility report for the city’s planned 2012 reconstruction project—which will cost about $3.5 million—and is scheduled to hold an improvement/assessment hearing on Jan. 24, according to a report by Public Works Director Brian Bachmeier.
Assessments will cover 36 percent of the project, with the city covering the other 64 percent, he said.
The annual street reconstruction program is one of the city’s most important programs, said mayor Carmen Sarrack.
“It keeps neighborhoods looking good and property values up,” he said.
